Great usb microscope for the price and runs on Linux cheese

I`ve been using this usb microscope mainly to look at my pcb etching and soldering details. To zoom in turn the small round section on the actual microscope shaft and also adjust the focus section on the main holding arm. I have it connected to my Linux computer laptop usb port and I use the cheese program utility to see the picture.

My linux laptop is running the Ubuntu 16.04 32 bit OS - the usb microscope shows up as, ls -l /dev/video0

To run cheese, and assuming it is the only usb connection, run the command `sudo cheese`.

With the cheese program you can take snapshots and videos and completely take advantage of all the usb microscope`s functionality.
The cheese program create jpg files for the pictures and saves them in the folder, `/home/martin/Pictures/Webcam`.

The cheese video files are stored in the folder, `/home/martin/Videos/Webcam` as `2018-03-30-105851.webm` webm format. You can play the video files back using the default linux video program and/or VLC and then convert them to mp4 files if you want to.

I`ve also look close up on a piece of hair, a section of the page of a magazine, very clear pictures.

I`m not sure what the actual zoom times is but it is very impressive.

Again great product for a great price and runs on Linux (not just windows).
